Nope, I’m not addressing BubbleCow. They’re awesome! The editor I’m talking about is the one who shall remain nameless that I talked to early on about sex in Urban Fantasy. The one who advised me against including the steamy parts. The feedback that I’m getting from my readers is that they want sexy bits left in.
It may be that the UF and PNR genres are so close together these days that there’s very little distinction, or it may be that readers have always wanted it, but never got it in the traditional UF model.
Regardless of the whys, rest easy my darling readers, Vampire Blues will have more than one steamy scene included.

Voodoo Dues - Released!
Voodoo Dues is now available for purchase on Amazon! Check it out, grab a sample and if you like it, please help a poor inkslinger buy more pistachio pistachio ice cream. (not that my ass needs it!) See the blurb and some recent reviews below.
As an Anthropologist, Lian Cairn specialized in the study of others, the not so totally human races that exist in the shadows around us. After a life changing event, he decided to leave that career behind to become a bar owner. Settled firmly in his new life, he’s looking forward to the mundane, but finds that his old life isn’t going to disappear as he’d hoped.
When the local Voodoo Queen’s Grandson is murdered outside his bar, and she comes to Lian for help, Lian and his quirky bartender Figg, are sucked back into the world he’d hoped to leave behind.
What People Are Saying About Voodoo Dues...
Stephany Simmons is a great new author. Her style is witty and entertaining, a refreshing change to the typical paranormal/urban fantasy books in my TBR pile. I wasn’t sure what to think but I love the voodoo twist *grin* Lian and Figg are the lead characters but don’t be fooled into thinking that they are the only ones you are going to become attached to, all of the characters that Stephany writes are special and add unique points of view to the story. I absolutely LOVE Figg! I could not get enough of her personality and her charm. She is resourceful, quirky and hysterical. There were several times I literally laughed out loud at her antics. Lian on the other hand is quiet and reserved but I am certain that there is more to him than meets the eye *wink* Stephany does an excellent job of telling a fun tale that will keep the readers interested. I cannot wait to read the next in this series.

I absolutely loved this book. It keeps you on the edge of your seat; so what if it's 2:00 AM and I have to get up for work in a few hours, just had to find out how it ended. I loved Figg, without giving anything away, the girl has skills and I will never look at certain seasonings the same way again. :) The characters are real though some, like in life, take a little warming up to. I wait in anticipation for the next installment from this author. Voodoo Dues is a keeper.

I loved this book! I feel like this is a great mix of reality and fantasy with personalities that are identifiable and likeable. The story itself is different and incredibly interesting making it hard to stop reading. It's clear there is more in store for this story, the characters, and from this author. I can't wait for it!
